Library Board

Responsibility:
Cuyahoga County Public Library is committed to providing excellent materials, services and educational opportunities throughout this County. Its mission is to be at the center of community life by providing an environment where reading, lifelong learning and civic engagement thrive. The Library supports initiatives and efforts that impact the quality of life for all residents of this county and seeks to be the most convenient public library system in the nation, known for providing quality services to all. A seven-member Board of Trustees governs the operations of the Cuyahoga County Public Library and its operations.

Qualifications:
Ohio Revised Code Section 3375.22 mandates that trustees of any County library system be “qualified electors of the county” served by the library system. Cuyahoga County seeks individuals committed to the mission, vision and goals of the Cuyahoga County Public Library system. The successful appointee will serve without compensation. Terms of each appointment are seven years and an appointment to a vacated position will last until the expiration of the original appointment.
