Boards and Commissions Ethics Video

The Cuyahoga County Council has enacted a comprehensive Ethics Ordinance that created new obligations for the members of the Cuyahoga County Boards and Commissions and their operations.

Article VII, Section 1 provides pertinent definitions. Specifically, a “Public Official and Employee” includes “…any elected or appointed…agent of the County or board, commission or agency member, whether in a temporary or permanent capacity.” This definition is applicable regardless of whether compensation is provided or whether the position is part or full-time. As such, all board and commission appointees are required to comply with the provisions contained in the Ethics Policy.

Of note, Article VII, Section 4 mandates that all Cuyahoga County appointees attend Ethics Training Programs and Classes and complete a Nepotism Statement and Conflict of Interest form. Relative to the Ethics Training, please view the on-line training video below. Upon completion of the video, please complete the Acknowledgement of Ethics Policy form. Both forms shall be returned to:

Cuyahoga County Human Resources
Training Division
1255 Euclid Avenue, #310
Cleveland, OH 44115
